Magazines

Good magazines are important to read because we learn about new trends and our vocabulary grows.  Here are some words that were introduced since 2000:

the Stay-cation (like vacation, but you stay near home)

Twitter -- it sounds like a bird.

podcast =  it sounds like broadcast and a pod of peas (a bunch of peas).

efriend -- a person you "met" over the Internet.  You have never met in person.  When you meet in person, then the efriend turns into a friend.

hoody (also hoodie)
· informal -- a person, especially a youth, wearing a hooded top.
origin 1960s: of unknown origin.

YUPPIE -- Young Urban Professional
