I've traveled to over 45 countries and I've almost three years in other countries.  What can we learn from each other?

I've developed a pronunciation system called "It Sounds Like" and I hope people will avoid using IPA (backwards C, a+e, upside-down V).  Let's talk!   Write to freeEnglishLessons@gmail.com.   My Orkut and Facebook accounts are both linked to FreeEnglishLessons@gmail.com.

I
am a teacher in a school in Fort Lauderdale.

Ongoing assessment works when the students know that you are watching their participation and recording their efforts.

A Weekly Evaluation of the Students

Here's a thorough way to catch students doing something correctly.  it's good for motivation and "self control"  and the form communicates to students that they have the choice to improve their grade.  They get a message from the teacher that self-generated projects are valued.

Total (100)     ____
Send 5 sentences per day to TLASteve@gmail.com

Here's one of my mentors.

Procedure (how to use this sheet)

1.  Write some of the projects that you have observed each student doing.

2.  Ask the students to assess themselves.

3.  Write in the daily participation numbers (Mon-Fri) and give the total.

4.  Paste the assessment in the student's folder.
